Message from the President

With the wrap-up of the indoor season, our outdoor season is in full swing.  Many Provincial, National, and international meets are booked and in place between May and August 2024 which is extremely exciting.  Of special note this is an Olympic year with the Olympics taking place in Paris, France.  The Canadian trials for the Olympics took place in Montreal, Quebec at the end of June.  Several Saskatchewan athletes put their stamp on making the Canadian Olympic team.  We wish huge CONGRATULATIONS to Michelle Harrison & Savannah Sutherland who made the Canadian Olympic team and will represent Canada in Paris.  Michelle will compete in the 100M Hurdle race and Savannah will compete in the 400M Hurdle race and on the Women’s 4x400m relay team.  Both athletes are previous Bob Adams Foundation award winners as well as Saskatoon Track & Field Club members.  I know I speak for everyone when I say that all of Saskatchewan are behind you, and we wish you nothing but success at the Olympics.

Saskatchewan will also see big events such as the Saskatchewan Summer Games, The Tony Cote Summer Games & Saskatchewan Provincial Track and Field Meet in Regina. This, in addition to the Saskatchewan U16/U18 Trials, the Provincial High School Track and Field Meet, Sask. Legion Camp and several other meets, clearly show that Track and Field is alive and well and has a lot to celebrate within the province.  We wish everyone the very best of luck in their pursuit of excellence during this outdoor season.

As we set our sights on big things this summer, I want to once again express my thanks to all the coaches, athletes, officials, organizing committees, and volunteers for everything they do to make our sport thrive in Saskatchewan.

Information on our upcoming Saskatchewan Athletics – Bob Adams Foundation awards night will be out soon.  This year’s award night will be on Saturday, October 19th at Dakota Dunes Casino, so save the date.
